Oh there is a Reason

There is a reason Sarah Palin's 17 year old daughter is pregnant. Her mama opposes sex ed and sponsors abstinence only programs, despite the fact that studies show they do not work and have been known to basically promote unsafe sex practices.

I will not go into a diatribe about safe sex or sex ed, we've done that before, somewhere in the last two years of this blog.

Among other things, Palin is so extremely right wing that there is no room on her end of the spectrum to move about, it's all her, trying trying, trying to get as far over as she can.

For this and many several other reasons, I do not like her.

Even parents who educate their children end up with unwanted pregnancies. How she chooses to raise her own children in the shadow of her religion is no reason to judge her. There is plenty else that is actually relevant to her qualifications.

Oh, trust me sweetie, I know. It's not about her or her religion, it is her personal views foisted on the populous that she governs and could potentially govern. As she is young and in good health and McCain is neither of those, there is a very real possibility that this woman could be acting president some day (if they are elected, god forbid)

Much of America is somewhere in the middle, and the candidates know this. Big money and big votes come from the far right so they must appease. The same can be said for the left; the Dems have to appease their suppliers too.

I'm just glad this crap will be over in a few months.
