Post 600

In honor of my 600th post, I have to tell you that I am working in the vicinity of an honest to God/Buddha/Shiva Aussie Hottie.

That's all. You may go about your business.

Life Update

I told myself that when/if TG and I broke up (which we did on Friday) that I would not date for at least three months. So I am welcoming the alone time by sleeping all day Sunday (which I did). Lovely.

So, I am now single and unemployed. Whoo!

Youngest is pregnant again. They planned this one, ooh lala. I know they are great parents, but why does she insist on postponing her life every year. She will not be able to take a teaching job she is being handed. Literally handed, by her former teacher. Somehow she gets pregnant and is scheduled to deliver right as the school year starts. Funny, huh?

Mom and Dad are on a cruise, so I have spent most of my nights with LLS and LLSP at their house, last night we went to hear one of the neighbor's bands. And we saw a girl we went to high school with. We talked all night. Twas fun.

I did not get a job I really wanted. They "loved me and my energy" but the person they picked would have "made the position more their own." What does that mean anyway?

I am up for a couple of other positions though, so I am not hopeless.

I got my grad school packet in the mail so I have that. If I get one of the jobs I am up for, I may have to go grad school at the actual university as I will be in that town (instead of the satellite university in my town) working anyway. I am very excited to go back to school. But since my desired program's application deadlines are in 10 days and I still have to study and take the GRE exam, get my transcripts, write an essay, complete the application and get three letters of recommendation, I will be applying for the 2009 Spring session. That deadline is in October, so I can gather and not run around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to make the Fall deadline.

Sally Kern...

...Needs to eat shit and die. Hate mongers are not people, they are creatures spawned from evil and do not deserve the skin they inhabit.

She's the slag on the right.

Yeah...

I walked to the library today (I had to pick up some reserved books and use the computer, I needed a full keyboard). It's only a few blocks away and I needed to get out of the house again.

It was crawling with children! Yes, it's a small branch, but still...crawling!

They have a grand total of seven computer terminals and they were all full except the 20 minutes only terminal. Thing is, they weren't using them for say, school work, no, they were playing games and adding stuff to their MySpace pages. Shouldn't there be some rules about this? If there are a limited number of accessible computers, shouldn't there be some set aside for people who actually need to do some work.

Seriously.

Anyway, I had an agency interview today. I have a lunch meeting tomorrow and another interview on Thursday.

I am hoping to have a job by the 20th.

So...

As you know, I am home a lot now that I am sans job. In between trying to find a job, I watch a fair amount of TV. And someone needs to explain the appeal of the lead (Domenico Nesci) on "That's Amore." Cuz, seriously, I don't get it.

He is described on one website as:

"Fresh from Milan and straight into Los Angeles, Domenico Nesci is a 26-year-old, one-track mind guy whose focus is solely on women. His secret weapon? He uses his sexy accent to charm the ladies onto his lap. He enjoys being on stage because it gives him the vibrations. He lives his life to the fullest, saying that he loves the sun, sea and wine. He also enjoys traveling and riding motorbikes, and is so happy that he sometimes feels like running naked on the street."

How obnoxious is that?

He is also loud and infuriatingly giddy. And the tasks the contestants have to perform on his show are demeaning and embarrassing and he finds this hilarious. Course, the contestants are even worse...just trying and vying to get that shot at fame that inevitably comes from being on a reality TV show. Sad.

Even more sad? - They still claim to be looking for love!

Of course, I do not get or like reality TV, the dating shows are just sad. "Rock of Love with Bret Michaels" (Hello, Collagen!) "Flavor of Love with Flava Flav." All just pathetic attempts to breath some life into a deflating or dead career. I can't believe this is what my generation will be remembered for.

What is with the head-gear?

Sunday

So, to all those who wanted to know, the reason I haven't blogged in a while is because there hasn't been much to blog about:

I am still unemployed (I do have an interview tomorrow though, cross your fingers).

I am still dating TG (though he works very long strange hours so it is hard for us to spend a lot of time together).

The LLS has moved back to The Middle with LLSP (Luscious Lesbian Sister's Partner) and have settled in with our parents. She got a job the day after she got here. How much does that suck? For me anyway. I have been unemployed for nearly 2 months and she gets a job the week she moves here.

I am going to apply for grad school. I am hoping to get my MA in History and Education and go into teaching. I am also looking into a substitute teaching certification, just to get my feet wet.

Roomie hasn't been around lately, her family came in from around the world last week so she was off with them for quite a while and then she went to New Orleans this week.

So, there you have it.
